Calling all participants – kids costume parade and chili connoisseurs & chefs!
On Saturday, October 13th downtown Faribault will be filled with kids in their best Halloween costumes as they take part in the kid’s parade that starts at 11:00 a.m. Leading the parade will be a marching band to get the crowd going. Family members are encouraged to make signs supporting the parade participants. Last year we had well over 100 parade participants so let’s see if we can top that this year! No pre-registration is required. Strollers and trikes are welcome but no pets or motorized vehicles please. Get the neighborhood, classroom, day care kids or family together and have a great time at the kids’ costume parade on Central Avenue. We will gather at around 10:30 a.m. in the parking lots of 520 or 533 Central Avenue near Gran Plaza and Katie Brien Photography and the parade will end in the 200 block of Central Avenue. After the parade, families will be able to enjoy more great kid’s activities. Don’t forget your camera as it will be an event to capture in pictures.
Also part of our Fall Festival is the famous Chili Contest. Think you make a great batch of chili? Here’s your chance to show off. Or maybe you just LOVE to eat chili. Here’s your chance to sample about 30 different chili recipes. Vote for your favorite and the winner may have their chili featured at Boston’s restaurant all winter long!
To enter the Chili Contest, stop down and see Marie at The Sweet Spot or you can click 2012 Fall Festival Chili Contest Rules for the Chili Contest rules and entry form.
The Fall Festival is sure to be a great event for the whole family. Come spend some great quality family time in Downtown Faribault.
