Friday, Oct 15th, the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism held the annual gala. Originally scheduled in the spring of 2021, but rescheduled due to COVID, the event served as a joyous reunion following a difficult 18 months.
The event included comments from Bart Jackson, 2020 Chamber Board Chair, before he officially passed the gavel to Suzanne Terry, 2021 Board Chair. Suzanne Terry provided her own thoughts and words of encouragement, reflecting that the Faribault Chamber was founded in the early 1900's, following another pandemic, and how the resiliency and resourcefulness seen then, is evident in Faribault today.
Within the Chamber's Vision priorities is Excellence in Education, and Dr. Annette Parker from South Central College, along with Superintendent Todd Sesker, from the Faribault Public Schools, provided updates on key initiatives and spoke to the Chambers role in helping elevate and expand those programs. Following that, Chamber President/CEO Nort Johnson provided additional highlights over the past 18 months, before introducing the band Relativity.
At the annual Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism gala, we celebrate business, we celebrate successes and new initiatives. We celebrate the work of the Chamber, and we celebrate our community. Thank you to everyone to came to support the community and the Chamber! It was great to see you all!
